This book is ideal for anyone who is just starting to work with precious metal clay and a great guide for the seasoned metal worker. I haven't worked with PMC for long and found this book of all the books out there that had all the information you would want and need to get started. I highly recommend this book.

IF YOU'RE A BEGINNER...... -
Just want to keep this short and sweet.... If you're new to the World of Precious Metal Clay, this has got to be one of the "FIRST" books you put into your reference library!! I was very pleased upon first read/perusal.... A must!!
Good basic to start with. - 
I am just starting to get into the art of metal clay and decided to buy this book as a guide. I think it has good techniques to get you started as well as some simple straight forward designs for beginners to try. I must say, however, that the artist did not inspire me as much as I had hoped.
This would not be a book that I would recommend for an experienced metal clay artist, just someone who is starting out.
Great book for beginners -
This book is well written and easy to follow. I would recommend this as a great 1st book on metal clay. This is not a project book,the focus is on how to work with metal clay. It is filled with tips, photographs, glossary and a resource section.

Metal Clay, The Complete Guide -
This book seems to have been designed to provide references to various techniques rather than give a series of step-by-steps for the reader to mimic. I really dislike that way of explaining...all you end up with is a collection of pieces that someone else designed. She has left room for YOUR imagination and ideas to flow. I would recommend it for new metal clay artists partly because it has such a good index and that makes specific information easy to locate. My sole criticism is that Trudy never touches on PMC, the Art Clay competitor. I realize that Trudy IS Art Clay as much as anyone in the U.S. could claim to be, so I expected her to focus on Art Clay, but not to even give firing temperatures for PMC and put the word "complete" in the subtitle seems just a little bit misleading. I do give her and her publisher the benefit of a doubt - I don't believe they intended to mislead any of us.
