CUSTOMER REVIEWS:
Somewhat self promoting -

I was a bit disappointed in the book because the authors obviously want you to buy their molds. The projects are well thought out and explained. The photography is okay. To be really valuable they should start with an explanation of how one could make ones own molds for these projects. Most people who would be able to do these projects could be trusted to have the expertise to go beyond just buying someone elses product.

Great for the hobby crafter, but not really about true glass casting -

The title of the book is misleading; both title and salespitch promise much more than the book delivers. This is not really a book about general glass casting but primarily about only one small and fairly easy aspect of it, i.e., packing frit into a premade mold to "cast" it.
Ms. Persico is very skilled at using her company's premade, reusable "colour de verre" molds and frit to cast small components that eventually go into jewelry or larger, often fused glass pieces. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, Ms. Persico is a great instructor and I'd recommend this book if that's your only intent.
But if you think you're buying a book that will teach you the much more complicated techniques of real glass casting and even more complicated "pate de verre," you'll be disappointed.
If you're interested in learning to make your own models and molds for either transparent (reservoir or open-faced) casting or pate de verre, especially for large or complicated work, you'll need a different book. I'd recommend finding a copy of Kervin/Fenton's Pate de Verre and Kiln Casting of Glass, the Tokyo Art Institute's Pate De Verre Techniques (English translation), Glass Casting and Mold Making by Dan Fenton, to name my three favorites.

Glass Kiln CastingThis book was very easy to read and follow. It had visual representations so you could see what you need to do.
