Ms. Garmond is thorough, very helpful and has an artistic ability that is out of this world. Having seen her work in Fredricksburg made me want to purchase the book just to see how she does it. Must Have Book! -
I bought this book in Texas, at a gallery where the artist has her work on display. The book in inspiring, with excellent photos of the artist's work. But more than that, the author/artist explains the art of mosaic and gives lots of details explanations of all the various materials needed for mosaic, which adhesives work best with which surfaces and mosaic materials you wish to use. So you can just enjoy the photos of her work, or actually get started on your own mosaic with confidence. I highly recommend this book to any artist interested in mosaic, found art, collage or mixed media.
Best idea book on Mosaics so far -
This is the best book I've acquired lately on making mosaics from found objects such as dinner plates and other ceramics, as well as many other items and materials. Nothing in the book looks 'crafty cute'. All the examples are beautiful, interesting and artistic. I especialy wanted a book that covered garden art and this book does a fantastic job on that. The instructions on how to use the tools and materials are excellent and the illustrations are top quality.
This book is a must for anyone just getting started and challenging enough for anyone interested in mosaic art as well.

The author provides solid information on making mosaics, the how-to's and the why's for success. Additionally, she includes projects that are useful on their own but also provide creative inspiration for additional projects of your design.
