Best How to Book of Any Kind -
I borrowed this book because it was the one we were going to use for an enameling class. I bought my own copy the next day. That was over 3 months ago and many completed projects latter. In that time I have yet to figure out what this book didn't cover.
Here's what makes this book so special. Step by step instructions with pictures. The instructions are so clear that the pictures may not even be necessary? Easily the best how to book I have and I have an entire library of them...metalsmithing, metalclay, knots, wirewrapping, etc.
The other thing that is nice is the history she gives you. Wait, you just want instruction? Not a problem; because the history is in separate boxes set aside from the easy to follow instructions.
I wish other authors would take the time to do this kind of detail on their subjects. So many times, in other books I've read, it seems like you have to, "...fill in the gaps..." but not here. Linda even tells you what to do if you make a mistake.
I and a lot of other reviewers, obviously, can't recommend this book enough.

well done. I thought it might be a Pretty Book...but it is very good for learning from, too. Step by step instructional projects and information abound and it is done in a way that you don't have to wonder what is being said. Glad I ordered it as it is a great addition to my other jewelry reference books.
"THE" enameling book -
This is the most worthwhile book on enameling that I've come across. She clearly explains the different techniques, with excellent pictures, step-by-step. She starts with the more beginning techniques and progresses through more difficult ones. There are also many beautiful pictures of finished work in many different styles. I was lucky enough to take a workshop with Linda, and if you get the chance, you should try to make it to the workshop. Last I heard, she was doing a lot of them. Not only is she very informative, but also has a great personality, and will help students with whatever they are trying to accomplish, even if it isn't her style.

This book is the best I have seen on enameling. Very informative on anything you need to know on the subject !! Cannot wait to purchase my suppies and get started !!!!

What a great book! -
I've started enameling my Art Clay Silver pieces and needed an easy to follow guide, since my one enameling class gave me the basics but not enough to comfortably work on things in my studio without having a good reference book. "The Art of Enameling" has been great. It has sections on working with fine silver, which is a big help. The author writes well and the accompanying photos and tips are great. After reading through it, I feel a lot more comfortable and ready to tackle some projects.
