beautiful & inspiring, but... -
I am an apprentice to a lost-wax method silversmith, have taken many metalsmithing classes (pmc, metal arts, etc) and really appreciate the art that was displayed in this book. However, I am constantly frustrated with art jewelry books that do not display the jewelry on a person. Models do not have to look as though they just walked out of a fashion mag, I just want to see pendants, necklaces, earrings, bracelets on real human beings (close-up photos work for me)... Is it because most of these pieces are 'art' or sculpture on a small scale and are not intended to be worn, ever?

I found this book to be very informative. It has beautiful photographs and clear instructions. A must for anyone interested in making cold connection jewelry.
Inspirational -
The projects in this book inspired me. I hope to use the book to improve my metalworking skills. The transaction was easy and the shipper was fast.
Can't recommend -
Okay for a beginner to peruse, but if you're looking for good craftsmanship and solid techniques you'll do better with other books. There are lots of things out there that speak to cold connections and fiber techniques with metal, but this volume just doesn't quite make it. I found the projects less than insipiring and my high school students thought things looked sloppy. Not one of them wanted to make them and referred instead to
McCreight's books and Fisch's book on fiber techniques for metal. On the positive side, the book itself was well designed and the diagrams and info were clear and accurate.

I have been so inspired by this book. I just absolutely love it. I am anxious to get started making some things. I have had a little experience in metalwork, but I am no pro. I can't believe anyone would not just love this amazing book.
