Great way to begin metalsmithing! -
I've been working with sheet metal to create jewelry for about a year now. Because of the tools involved, I work mainly out of a studio in my area. Mary's book is a great way for people interested in working with metal to begin their journey because the tools you need are readily available for home use! I also enjoyed the very organic design of the projects in this book! It's just my style!!

The book is well written with clear instructions. Great even for a beginner, lists required and suggested tools and materials. Gives lots of room for innovation and creativity.

Lovely to look at but... -
This book is lovely to look at but painful to read. Starting with the Introduction and continuing through the Acknowledgments, it is poorly written. This is an oversight on the part of Lark Publishing's proofreaders and editors.

sorely disappointed -
If you don't know how to do cold connections before you buy this book-you won't know how afterwards either. and after looking at the pictures, you might not be all that inspired.
